Tung'

The horn of Nam Lolwe

Tung'/oporo is a musical instrument that is found among the Lüō community. Central Lüō refers to it as tung' while South Nyanza calls it oporo. It can be made from a single or pieces of animal horns of different sizes stuck together in an overlapping technique. It is played by blowing air through the small opening hole while covering the wider side to obtain different notes. In most cases when tuning and playing oporo it may require water to be poured inside to create a smooth wind flow.
